Light Relief - Much needed help for business struggling with Business rates
Scotts are pleased to announce that the government has taken steps, albeit small ones, to help small businesses with the burden of business rates. Two schemes are now available to help with those struggling with business rates.
The first is the '2009/2010 Business Rates Deferral Scheme' which allows businesses to spread the payment of business rates increases, upto 3% of the total bill, in the 2009/2010 business rates bill over three years.
Secondly if the bill has increased as a result of the end of the current transitional relief period then you maybe able to defer 60% of the increase.
These schemes are a step towards mitigating the business rates increases which have been implemented in the midst current recession.
